WTA on Tour

Another recent first for WTA was 'The School Tour' - definitely a Grand Day Out. It may seem strange that it has never happened before, but even the fact it was up for discussion, (for several months!), is another sign that WTA has 'reached somewhere' (as HM Benard said), meaning that the school is more established and more stable. 

Much as we might have secretly hoped for an extra trip back up to Murchison, the overwhelming school choice was to go to Entebbe and take as many students as possible. Two coach loads of very excited students and teachers set off and had a brilliant day. The itinerary: Entebbe Zoo, Entebbe Airport, Lake Victoria for a beach visit and boat trip, ending with some history and culture at the Uganda Museum, not to mention the all important lunch and swim. These photos speak for themselves. It is also a significant step that WTA now has a greater capacity to include exciting, educational activities beyond the curriculum.

A day trip to Entebbe might not sound like a big deal to some of us who often consider Entebbe to be the departure lounge or arrival point into Uganda! However, for many WTA students, (and some teachers), it was their first time to travel south of Wobulenzi, the first time to Uganda's capital and Entebbe airport. It was also their first time to visit a museum and take a boat trip on a lake - all in all a very momentous and memorable day.
