"One of the biggest challenges we face in the field is that schools and children don't have books to read. This term, we are really excited to partner with Connect Education Centre to launch a mobile library project! 

READ for Life and Connect Education Centre have just launched our small pilot, Mobile Library program. We shared about the importance of reading stories, how to read with expression and its benefits for children. 

We all had a blast with our new character voices and teachers Reagan and Jenneth were tough on our page turning! Can’t wait to see these mobile libraries being used in schools soon! We are starting with 9 schools - schools which have performed well in reading assessments, have unbelievably dedicated reading teachers and just need books! These schools have teachers who are trying their hardest to teach phonics and implement what they have learnt in our trainings. 

They will now benefit from a portable, metal bookcase that will house a range of picture books for reading aloud, as well as a selection of early readers for children to read themselves. We are also looking forward to expanding this program next year."
